Climate
It is usually cooler during the dry season by a few degrees. Because it is in the tropical latitudes that is still hot enough. The savanna climate has a temperature range of 68° to 86° . In the winter, it is usually about 68° to 78° F . In the summer the temperature ranges from 78° to 86° F. In a Savanna the temperature does not change a lot. When it does, its very gradual and not drastic. The Australian Savanna also has a wet-dry climate. There is a distinct dry season, which is in winter.
Plants B
The five Plants in the Australian savanna are
Jarrah Tree
Kangaroo Paw
Baobab
Jackalberry Tree
Gum Tree Eucalyptus
The Jarrah tree is one of the many species of eucalyptus. The Jarrah tree usually grows to about 40-50 meters high, with a trunk diameter of three meters. It has a magnificent scent. The leaves of the jarrah tree are about 8 to 13 millimeters long. The top of the leaves are dark green and the bottom side is lighter. The specios name of the plant "marginata" relates to the light colored vein around the edge of the leaf.
The Kangaroo Paw is the floral emblem of western Australia. Whats really cool is the unscented flowers that can grow up to 10 centimeters long. The green furry flowers are attached to the sturdy red stem. The sturdy stem makes a perfect perch for many birds, and can grow to a meter high. The leaves of the plant are ususally about 30 to 60 centimeters long. The reason why the Kangaroo Paw got it's name because of the plants bright red ovary and it's paw shapes flower.
The Baobab is mostly around the equator. It can grow up to 25 meters tall and can live for several thousand year. Its leafless for nine months of the year.
